Kinnosa Service Container.
Business services and component services must execute in some type of service container.
The Service Container includes the runtime environments and servers for the services. It also
provides persistence and state management services as well. The Service Container
allows for the launching of services during server startup as well as deployment of
new services during server runtime. It also provides access to the Kinnosa repositories,
directory services and messaging services.
Kinnosa Process Manager.
Kinnosa Process Manager is a third generation cooperative workflow engine, compliant to
WfMC specifications, for designing, deploying, managing and executing automated business
processes. The engine incorporates many innovative features such as activity anticipation,
awareness infrastructure to offer event notification, and automatic execution of
services based on an activity life cycle. Traditional features like dynamic user assignment,
task management and sequential execution support cooperative, ad hoc, production and
administrative type workflows. Advanced scalability and reliability features allow an
enterprise to extend solutions built using Kinnosa Process Manager to thousands of employees,
customers, suppliers and partners alike.
Kinnosa Java Content Repository.
Kinnosa Java Content Repository (JCR) provides a standard, intermediary layer for accessing
content repositories according to the JCR-170 specification. Kinnosa JCR is an information
management system that sits between applications and data stores to provide various services
for storing, accessing and managing content. Data stores can be any JDBC compliant relational
or object database (e.g. Oracle, SQLServer, Sybase ASE, MySQL and PostgreSQL) or file system.
In addition to hierarchically structured data storage, Kinnosa JCR provides common services
such as versioning, access control, full text searching and event monitoring.
Kinnosa Content Manager.
The first release of Kinnosa Content Manager provides a set of tools on top of Kinnosa JCR to
enable advanced document functionalities plus several publication channels including web
publishing. Some of the features include support for the WebDAV protocol, revision control,
advanced support for Kinnosa Process Manager, ticketing, document backup and archiving, and
use of templates to create and visualize structured documents. The introduction of Triggers
allows business processes, business rules or applications to be initiated or executed when
documents are read, created or removed from a dedicated JCR workspace.
Kinnosa Medio.
Kinnosa Medio is a series of application add-ins and connectivity services that allows packaged
or custom applications to connect to a Kinnosa Java Content Repository (JCR). These services
handle communication protocols and data representation to enable secure retrieval and
modification of data between third-party applications, data stores and a Kinnosa JCR.
Medio Adapters include components that provide low-level interface services to connect existing
systems such as data stores and messaging subsystems to a Kinnosa JCR. Medio Add-ins provide
low-level interface services to connect third-party applications to a Kinnosa JCR. Connection
to custom applications or legacy systems can be developed using the Kinnosa Software Development
Kit (SDK).
